Dear Friends and Family of Mosaic Church,

In our last monthly blast, it was mentioned that we have sensed that God is breathing new life into our hearts and beginning to form a new vision for the city of Detroit.  This is an exciting time for many of us after what has been an incredibly difficult and tense two years as a church.  It's also a vital and heavy moment, and we are all feeling the moment's gravity.  

After weeks of discernment, conversation, and meetings with those that call Mosaic "home," we have decided that in order to allow God to reshape our vision and identity as a church, we must no longer go under the name "Mosaic." Therefore, Easter Sunday will be our last Sunday under that name.  Beginning in April, we will kick off a season of mutual discernment, worship, and prayer.  This will involve a continuation of our "First Sunday" worship and brunch, but will consist of Team Meetings on the remaining weeks.  We are currently projecting this discerning season to last 2 months, with a potential relaunch under a new name and vision the beginning of June.  But we also will stay faithful to the process to ensure that we are unified in our direction, so the projected time may be extended.  

If you are a support partner, there is no change at this time in your giving methods.  Our website, everylifeseen.org, will remain live and the "give" button will correctly guide you.  You can also continue to send checks to "Mosaic Church of Detroit" at PO Box 6756, Detroit, MI 48206.  When giving instructions change, you will be the first to know.  If you have been giving, or would consider giving, please know that your support will be vital in the days ahead.  We believe that even in success of reaching people in Detroit, there will be ongoing need of support from individuals and churches like you.  

Finally, some on this email list have been a part of Mosaic in the past, and receiving this news may cause hurt.  Please know that discontinuing under the name Mosaic is in no way dismissing the incredible work that God has done in the lives of so many over the last 8+ years.  This decision did not come lightly, and we hold our grief alongside our embrace of something new.
